What this feature does
Transferring Subscriptions Between Locations allows you to manage your subscription by adding new locations or removing inactive locations. The system validates that only inactive locations can be removed and ensures your subscription accurately reflects your active store locations.
When to use it
When adding a new store location to your subscription
When removing inactive locations to stop billing for unused locations
When updating your subscription to match your current business needs

How to Use Transferring Subscriptions Between Locations
Step-by-step
Adding New Locations to Subscription
Go to Settings → Locations and click Update Subscription.
In the Update Subscription modal, select Add New Location.
Specify the details for the new location (name, Shopify location, etc.).
Validate the new location details are correct.
Click Save to add the location to your subscription.
Confirm the addition when prompted.
Removing Inactive Locations
Go to Settings → Locations and click Update Subscription.
In the Update Subscription modal, select the inactive location you want to remove.
Verify the location is marked as inactive (not currently in use).
Click Remove Inactive Location.
Confirm the removal action in the confirmation dialog.
Click Confirm to complete the removal.
Removing Active Locations (Two-Step Process)
First, deactivate the location by going to Settings → Locations.
Click Delete Location and transfer all customers to another location.
Then go to Update Subscription and remove the now-inactive location.
Select the inactive location and click Remove Inactive Location.
Confirm the removal to stop billing for that location.

Tips
Always deactivate locations in Store Settings before removing them from your subscription
Transfer all customers to another location before deactivating a location
Review your location usage regularly to ensure accurate billing

Troubleshooting
Can't remove a location from subscription – Ensure the location is inactive first by deleting it in Store Settings
Error: "This location is currently active" – Deactivate the location in Store Settings before removing from subscription
Error: "One or more selected locations are active" – Check all selected locations and deactivate active ones first
New location not appearing – Verify the location details are correct and the location exists in Shopify
Billing still showing removed location – Subscription changes take effect on the next billing cycle
